Last Night in Norseman

Ooooohoo I just had a wee thrill tingle go through me as I wrote the title of this post.

The countdown clock is at 16 hours until the end of my last shift tomorrow which signals my leaving of this small rural town that has been my home for the last three months.

This next photo is me at a farewell dinner party earlier this week. Also in the photo is an absolutely beautiful message from my adopted outback mother Bron.

I will miss this place. The friends I have made. The smallness and simplicity of such a small town. The lack of traffic, taxis, and street lights. The friendliness and nosiness of a small population. Although I found it quite unnerving being so isolated initially, far away from all the busy and fast pace of a larger city, it has really grown on me living here.

Today I enjoyed my last trip to the local supermarket. My last glorious Norseman sunset (pictured below) and my last Norseman dinner. With almost a tear in my eye, I started packing my suitcase and cleaning up the house ready for the next occupants.

As sad as I am to leave, I still have a huge grin on my face every time I think about what’s coming next. My stomach is a bundle of excited butterflies. I almost feel like I’m in a dream and about to wake up any moment now. Because I’m going scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef yeah! And then off to London and Europe baby!
